Who is Nefu Da Boss?


Raised in a world full of entertainment and stadium sized amplifiers, He credits his free spirited upbringing as the most probable cause for discovering his niche. Destined for the spotlight and donning a stage name Gerald Long II was born (October 12, 1983) in Detroit, Michigan better known as Rapper/ Producer “Nefu Da Boss.” By the age of 10 Nefu participated in writing competitions and received several writing awards from the Detroit Public Schools. After winning the writing competitions Nefu attended Lawrence Technological University to study Computer Science and Information Technology for 4 years before dropping out of school to start his record label “Omni-Records.” Nefu began to produce tracks, and wrote his first three mixtapes and albums which some of the tracks remain online on several Music upload sites such as itunes, apple music, spotify, soundcloud, and

Nefu’s mixtape Blockstar was released on itunes, Amazon, and other online music websites in 2010. This mixtape featured local Detroit hip-hop artists Big Herk, Cheddar Boy Malik, Dean Kelley, and Scrill. Blockstar the mixtape has hit Singles “Cuz Ima Star”, and “Popping Bottles” featuring Omnipotent Records artist “Va Gutta.” After releasing Blockstar Nefu dropped a hit single featuring Detroits Big Herk “Block Niggas” featuring the first lady of Omnipotent Records, Dean Kelley. Nefu has shared the stage with J nutty, Lil Flip, Big Herk, Blackface, Calicoe (freestyle battle MC), Dean Kelley, K-Deezy, Cheddar Boy Malik, Al Nuke, Scrill, YBI, Juicy J, and more.

Everything was going well for Nefu and Omnipotent Records until a tragedy occurred in his life. After getting hit by drunk driver suffering a horrible car accident, Nefu lost his fiance Diamond McCullough to asthma and went through an emotional intervention. This tragedy put his music career on hold. Taking a break made Nefu realize that music was his life and was the only way to release his pain. After overcoming this tradegy Nefu returned to music and production., Nefu signed his third talent Spade Da Boss after the accident. Nefu Was featured in Coast2Coast Mixtapes #162 Hosted by Big Sean, featuring hit single “Cuz Ima Star” by DJ Efeezy Heavy Hitters. Nefu has been writing and co-producing songs for the new record label “Detroit Loud” which is a division of Omnipotent Records before deciding to venture off into the digital marketing space.
